Can I take off the tape? (Photo)

Friday there places an chin implant. The swelling is going down, day by day. The doctor placed some kind of paper tape over and undr my chin. There is only a little knot from the treath under my chin. The implant was places in-oral and the wound looks great! But the tape is itches!!!!!!!! I want to take it off so badly, haha. But the instructions says I have to leave it on for a week... Soo... What to do?!

At my practice, I commonly send my patients to get a CT scan in order to get the exact positioning of a previous chin implant.  I also use a CT scan when designing custom implants. I hope this helps!

This question is difficult to answer because you did not post any pre-operative photos to compare. I would return to your surgeon and express your concerns, You always have the option of having the implant removed and/or getting a second opinion. Good luck

I would not recommend massaging your chin after the placement of an implant. The bruising and swelling you see is self-limiting and should go away on its own. Massaging and manipulating the chin does risk moving the chin implant out of its position before it's had a chance to fuse to the...
