Do I have Ptosis and why is my right eyebrow so high? (photo)

I have been called “sleepy eyes” since childhood and recognize that I constantly strain my face in order to keep my eyes open wider. This leads to headaches and I have to wrinkle my forehead when I strain my eyes open. And why is my right eyebrow so high? Suggestions as to what might correct this?

Yes you have upper eyelid ptosis on both eyes, likely worse in your right eye, which causes the right eyebrow to raise higher in order to assist lift the droopy eyelid. See an oculoplastic surgeon for evaluation and consideration of eyelid ptosis surgery.

Your photograph is consistent with a weakness of the muscle of the eyelids known as ptosis ("toe-sis") and you have it in both upper eyelids. This condition requires a surgical repair if you want it corrected.  It is causing your eyebrows to be asymmetric as your eyebrows and forehead attempt to compensate for weakness in your upper eyelid muscles. Please seek out an in-person consultation with a board-certified, fellowship trained Oculofacial Plastic Surgeon who specializes in cosmetic eyelid surgery and ptosis repair. You must avoid any doctors that perform ptosis or eyelid surgery part time, they cannot help you. This is a delicate and challenging operation that few surgeons perform well. Be realistic about the difficulty in achieving perfect symmetry between the eyelids -- it is something that i strive for every day in my career! Together with your surgeon you can decide if the benefits of repairing your eyelid will outweigh the challenges of the surgery. 
Your photograph would not qualify based on the current criteria as a medical necessity and would be deemed cosmetic plastic surgery.
