Nasal packing is coming out?

I can't reach my doctor's office right now since it's too late. It's been >48h post surgery where I had a septoplasty, my nasal bones put back into place, and some other stuff I can't recall anymore. I had bilateral nasal packing put in. I was told it was absorbable. Some of it seems to have come out today and I was wondering if it should have and whether I should be concerned that it came out so soon. The doctor's office made it seem like it would be up there for a lot longer (like a week).

Nasal packing is primarily used to help prevent any bleeding after surgery.  If you feel that some of your packing has come out but you are not having any bleeding, then there most likely is no problem.  I would just contact your surgeon's office when they are open again and discuss the situation with them.  You doctor should be able to determine if you need to be seen or not.
