I'm a Burmese girl.My eye is a double eyelid type. But I wanna have western double eyelid type.I wonder it's possible for me to get Caucasian's eyes.i also wanna know what kind of procedures I need n how many will it cost?
Answer: Trying to make your eyes look Caucasian will not look natural, and is not advised As a cosmetic oculofacial plastic surgeon with a specialty focused in Asian eyelid surgery, I’ve rarely heard an Asian patient tell me that they wanted Caucasian eyes. In fact, most people of Asian descent who come to me say that they don’t want to look Caucasian, but want a nice, defined eyelid crease. People with Asian descent have a distinct shape of the soft tissue of the eyes and bone structure. They also have genetic elements that make up their unique ethnic background. When you try to make someone look different from their original race or original ethnicity, you risk crossing a line of looking unnatural. There are many people in the media even actors and musicians who tried to do more than just enhancement and they became symbols of bad plastic surgery. My first suggestion to you is to explore why you want to look more Caucasian. It is important that you feel comfortable with who you are before you undergo an aesthetic procedure. It is a standard in our practice and in our profession to try to establish realistic expectations for any patient who considers a cosmetic procedure. Cosmetic procedures enhance your life but it doesn’t necessarily change your life. It may change how you look in life, it may make you feel more confident, but it doesn’t make someone who is Asian be mistaken for someone who is Caucasian. In the United States and practicing here in New York, we have amazing blending of ethnicities. People who have one Asian parent and a non-Asian parent have offspring with remarkable ethnic blending. In that respect, it still looks natural because it is by design from the beginning. I emphasize to you to not pursue aggressively this type of change unless you have realistic understanding of what the outcome will be. Certainly you can maybe get a deeper crease or do some other things that are not outside of eyelid surgery. Some people would get augmentation of the nose to build a more defined bridge, or do other things that are more extensive on the face. I would say to you simply that it is not possible to make someone of Asian descent make them look like they’re Caucasian. Rather you should embrace your ethnicity if you want to do some kind of enhancement. Most importantly, discuss this with people who are close to you to establish what the motivation is. I hope that was helpful, I wish you the best of luck, and thank you for your question. This personalized video answer to your question is posted on RealSelf and on YouTube. Answer: Asian eyelids Your eyes are beautiful. Surgery to make them look Caucasian will never look natural. You may be able to change the level of the crease but more than that is not recommended.
