I would like to fix my teeth and jaw. What should I ask my dentist? (Photo)

I am 19 years old, male. I just realized that my jaw is misaligned (lower jaw i think). My jaw has been locking for about a 2 years now and it really hurts when it locks. Nowadays I have been experiencing mild pain when i open my mouth big. I would like to have a better understanding of whats wrong with me and what I should do/tell my dentist. I would like a wider smile too.

You need an evaluation from an oral surgeon for jaw surgery. A dentist will not be able to fix the jaw issues. This is also an problem your dentist should have kept an eye on and given you the correct resources to fix it. You will need an orthodontist as well to help with the alignment of your teeth and bite.
