Hello, I had three composite fillings on the upper righthand side of my mouth on August 15th. A few days later I experienced a sharp pain while eating. I called the dentist, and they explained it's most likely a bite adjustment. I went in and had it done, but that night had pain while eating. Went back again, still had pain eating. On the third appt. on 9/9, he shaved down "as much as he could" and said he couldn't shave down any more. Well, I'm STILL having pain while eating. Is this normal?

From the picture your canine looks great. It should be the same length as your central incisor. The only reason it may need to be lengthened is if is too short to protect your teeth when moving your lower jaw side to side. This needs to be determined by your dentist.

gum defects.
If not satisfied with your dentists answer, then i suggest you call a periodontist in your area.(or if have friend who can recommend one)
