My Teeth Never Grew In!!! and Im 30? (photo)

Question

Hi i`m 30 and have my canine baby teeth still on my upper jaw, as well as a hardy gap in my two front teeth as well as no wisdom, im sure its not due to lack of room but im concerned because as the years do by so are my baby teeth wearing away. please any advise would help a lot.

	If your permanent canine is present (and not congenitally missing) then it may be possible to have it exposed by the oral surgeon and then erupted by the orthodontist. Although this procedure becomes more difficult at age 30. Alternatively, the primary tooth can be extracted and site prepared for an implant. If the permanent canine is present, it often requires extraction to create sufficient space for the implant. Bone grafting may also be indicated depending on its position.

You are not alone. there are many people walking around with their "baby" teeth still in their mouths at age 30, at any age actually. In some cases the adult teeth just didn't develop and in others the adult teeth are stuck in the bone and never erupted into position in the mouth. X-Ray (radiographs) would help determine what situation you are dealing with and allow for treatment planing that would suit your needs best. 

	You may want to have a dentist evaluate your condition with an exam and x-rays and work with you and specialists to solve some of the issues you have raised. There may be a number of different options available to you depending on the present condition of your mouth and the expectations you have for a final result. 

	Implants may be an option if there are no adult teeth available to replace the "baby" teeth. Orthodontics may certainly be an option to help with tooth repositioning, closing of gaps, and creating space for implants if desired.

	Aesthetic work in the form of  Veneers may also be an option to help close spaces and create a more balanced smile. 

	Bottom line is you will have options. Find a dentist that can help you with understanding what options are available and would best achieve the final result you are looking for.

It happens more often than you would think, but teeth sometimes need help. An orthodontist can work with an oral surgeon to bring the tooth or teeth down into place. It takes time, so patience is required. This assumes the canine exists (need X-rays), otherwise an implant may be plan B.
