Can my Nose Collapse After Closed Rhinoplasty?

Question

I just had osteotomies done to reduce a small bump, and tip was lifted. i am terrified of my nose having problems post-op or collapsing. I am beginning to regret the surgery but I can't take back time. Can my nose collapse, or have problems post-op if only these were performed?

If your nose is stable the day after rhinoplasty is not going to collapse. It will take a number of months for you to get psychologically adjusted to the new look. It probably end up with the wonderful result happy for what you did. Be patient.

Hi Sour,

	If your nose is fine currently after your rhinoplasty, you should not be terrified of having post-op collapse.  Collapse would have occured at the time of surgery, or may occur if too much nasal septum is removed, or if a large septal perforation occurs.  Discuss your concerns with your rhinoplasty surgeon who knows what occured during surgery.  It is not necessary to be overly worried.  Good luck and be well.

As long as you don't get hit or bumped, you should do fine.  Take care of yourself, and follow your Plastic Surgeon's post op instructions for a great result!
