The skin of your ears may be lighter than your facial skin, if you have longer hair, that covers your ears. To try to lighten your face wear a sunscreen with at least an SPF of 30 (50 if it does not irritate your skin) rain or shine, all year round. One type of ultratiovlet light (UVA) is constant all year round and does damage your skin. You should wear the sunscreen even iif it is raining, to make it a habit. A topical retinoid might also help, but for that you need to see a dermatologist
I would recommend Melarase AM and Melarase PM as an option for difficult PIH pigmentation on the face.
