My 3 day post operative nose feels like there is something sharp poking me, what can I do?

I had the left side of my nose reconstructed with cartilage from my nose because of nasal collapse. I've cleaned up most of the outside crusts, but high inside my nose, almost to the bridge, it feels like something small and kind of sharp is poking me. I tried to gently remove it with a Qtip covered in neosporine, but didn't want to dig, just gently rolled the Qtip around. Tried breathing out a bit more deeply, but NOT blowing my nose. Nothing is helping. No pos- op instructions were given.

Dear Grammy57,   I would not recommend poking or picking in your nose after surgery. Call your surgeon and have them examine your nose. I would suggest doing this sooner rather than later.

I think that you shoudl contact your surgeon and see him in persont o be evaluated. he will know what was done and what might be the cause of yoru discomfort. I would avoid sticking things in your nose at this point.
