I am 5'6 and 160 lbs. My BSA is 1.84, which means BCBS requires that about 470 g of breast tissue be removed in order to cover the procedure. One surgeon I saw stated that removing that much would be akin to a mastectomy. I wear a 32G bra now, but my breasts are quite pendulous, meaning that a lot of skin fills the cups as well as breast tissue. That said, most of my breasts are comprised of breast tissue, rather than excess fat. Will removing 470 grams be disproportionate to my frame?
