Hey Im 5 days post breast reduction..recovering rather well, i had my dressings removed yesterday day and the difference is huge.. i had more than 2.8 pounds removed between my breasts, 1.8 from my left. My question is.. is it normal to still be spotting blood and yellow fluid? And my left breast feels really firm, it’s bruised and the nipple looks dark purple.. i couldnt take pics because i feel like fainting every time i look at them :(

Blood and fluid discharge from the incisions a few days after injury is not uncommon and is not something to panic about. What you should look out for are the common signs and symptoms of infection. Usually, fever, chills, redness, tenderness, increased temperature, and pain on the incision suggest an infection. It would be best to have your surgeon check the incision to make sure you are healing well. Always keep the incision clean and dry as much as possible to prevent bacteria growth.
