I have a burn from rubbing my face too hard. Will it go away?

I started using Retin A 0.025%. Last night the side of my face was very itchy and I rubbed it too hard. I know the redness and overall itching is for a few weeks (started this last week). I just washed my face and applied more Retin A. Will it go away?

Did you mix it with any other acids, have an active burn, or have any skincare treatments done recently? For example laser hair removal or a chemical peel.

If so the skin is usually more sensitive than usual and more prone to burning. If you did not do any of the following things I listed above than your skin might just be sensitive to Retin A.

Thank you for your question and photograph. It's difficult to evaluate your skin through this type of forum, but from what I can see, it looks like you are getting irritation from the Retin-A. I highly recommend stopping the topical for now and consult with a board certified dermatologist to have your skin evaluated for treatment. Take care and good luck.
