If there is obvious swelling or excess soft tissue on the tip, then steroid injections can be beneficial and may be injected at 7 months post-operatively. Your surgeon will be the best person to tell whether this is the case as he or she can examine you in person.

Key to what you stated is that your tip *feels* hard and pointy, but that you are happy with your results. Therefore, there is no reason to inject the tip to improve the feel, because an injection can change the appearance of your tip. At just seven months post op, it is very common for the tip to feel hard to the touch. This will improve with time without any injection. As a board certified plastic surgeon who performs hundreds of rhinoplasty surgeries a year, I would not recommend a steroid injection. Be patient and all should resolve nicely. Nonetheless, I would continue to communicate with your surgeon, as we surgeons always appreciate it when our patients communicate with us about their healing, particularly if they’re out of state!

It is best to see your surgeon in person, even if they're out of state, because he/she can feel your skin and soft tissue and determine if steroid injection is appropriate. If it feels like skin fullness or soft tissue fullness, a steroid injection may help. If it is more rigid like cartilage, then a revision rhinoplasty would be more appropriate for your goals. Hi, thank you for your question. I do not recommend steroid injection due to risks even rare.. (blindness etc) as well as it would not be too helpful. You should talk to your surgeon for inj.
