I'm a size 36C. Can I get it to a 36A?

In my experience it's very difficult to reduce breasts to A cup, since there's no standard definition of A cups anyway.  It sounds like you would like a very drastic breast reduction (in other words, as much reduction as possible).  Surgeons cannot guarantee cup sizes, but they will listen to your goals and do their best to deliver.  Without an exam, it will not be possible to fully evaluate you and give you recommendations. 

Thank you for your question,   The Bellesoma Method is a current technique to lift and/or reduce breasts without using implants or the ugly vertical scars.  The incisions are hidden around the areola and in the inframammary crease. The vertical incision has been completely eliminated. The areola incision heals almost invisibly due to the fact that there is hardly any tension on the closure. With this particular technique, ducts are preserved along with nerve supply maintaining nipple sensation and the ability to breast feed. Because the breast is reshaped internally and is secured to your chest muscles, upper pole fullness is possible without an implant. Usually patients do not go down in size very much with this technique.  Attached is a patient who underwent The Bellesoma Method. Please note that her tissue was used to create upper pole fullness and cleavage without any foreign materials (mesh, implants, etc).  It is a proprietary technique that only surgeons that have been trained by me can perform. Dear jyjaysnith,determining the ideal breast size and matching that goal for the patient is the most difficult part of breast augmentation. It starts and ends with the patient. We have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements. Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If its too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match. Of all of my breast augmentation patients, everyone of them have been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. while there may be some exceptions, short of doing a mastectomy, it's very hard to take someone down that small to an A-cup unless you do a "free nipple graft" technique. Without photos, it's hard to give you great constructive feedback for what you're proposing

Reducing the breast from a size "C" to an "A"ish can be quite difficult to impossible without sacrificing shape and potential viability of the skin and or pedicle.

To understand the amount of reduction of possible, you would be best off to consult in person with an experienced and expert board certified plastic surgeon who can perform a proper consultation and physical examination.

Hello and thank you for your excellent question. Based on your request, I suspect that yes, you could go from a 36C to a 36A sized breast. The main issue is that if you seek insurance coverage for the procedure, the amount of tissue removed may be dictated by your insurer. In this case, you may want to consider paying out of pocket instead. Of course, you will need an in-person consultation to evaluate you for this procedure. Preoperative visualization and surgical simulation with the Crisalix system may help with your decision. Any treatment plan should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon.    Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.   The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation in person with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!
