Question

I'm 22 and never had braces. I have two main problems with my teeth, a ~4mm overjet and a crossbite. What could be done to fix my teeth, or at least reduce the problem? I've been suggested surgery, but I'd rather not go that route. I've also been suggested braces with extractions but I would prefer not to have extract my teeth as well. Could my problems be fixed with braces sans extraction? Another suggestion was Inivisalign. Would that be sufficient to reduce my overjet and realign my crossbite?

The photos shown simply do not give enough information. Only after a complete intra oral/extra oral evaluation can an orthodontist give you a realistic determination of treatment options. Is the cross bite unilateral or bilateral? Is the over bite purely dental or skeletal or a combination? All these factors combined with complete orthodontic records are most important for an orthodontic specialist to make that determination. Contact the American Association of Orthodontists to find an actual orthodontic specialist in your area (not a dentist performing orthodontics) to schedule an initial consultation. Hope that helps.
