Are Misti Gold breast implants manufactured by Bioplasty or Dow Corning?

Question

There is a class action law suit going on now against Dow Corning. If I can prove I have a Dow Corning product, They will issue a check to a dr. of my choice for 7,000 to have the implants removed. The representatives say that Misti Gold is a Bioplasty product, but I see information that Dow Corning was also involved with them also. Can anyone please give me advise on this? The Misti Gold implants were not made by Dow Corning.  This was a very specific implant available for only a short period of time.

My understanding of the lawsuit for Silicone Material Claimants is that anyone with silicone implants placed between 1976 and 1991 from Bioplasty, Baxter, Bristol, Cox-Uphoff, or Mentor would qualify.  I don't know for sure if Dow Corning made all of them.  Best to check with an attorney for details.

Dear Tdpar, unfortunately the Misti Gold implants were not made by Dow Corning and DO NOT contain silicone gel.  They have a different type of gel that was taken off the market for a variety of reasons.  The Bioplasty company may have used a shell made of solid silicone which was not a target of the suit, only the fill.  Hope this helps you but sorry.  Dr Schuster in Boca Raton
