Would you recommend prepless veneers on my front teeth? (Photo)

Question

I'd like to correct the spaces throughout my teeth and was considering veneers because of how small my second incisors are. I'm open to other options (besides metal braces) because I worry prepless veneers would look too bulky. I do not want to drill into what I have.

I would suggest going to a excellent trained cosmetic dentist and invest in a diagnostic wax up and a trial delivery of diagnostic veneers.  You can get an excellent feeling of what can be accomplished on a trial basis. From the photos, it looks like you would be a wonderful candidate for minimal to no prep veneers. There seems to be a tooth size discrepancy, and therefore, room for porcelain to give the teeth proper shape and contour without them looking bulky.A thorough exam and xrays would be needed to make sure you are a proper candidate.

I agree with Dr. Wendling that minimal prep veneers are almost always a better option.  1- You are more likely to have a good experience with the temporary veneers staying in place as you try on the new smile. 2- the lab will have more freedom to get ideal results.  3-the margins where the veneer meets the tooth are more easily blended. 4- whether you have prepless or minimal prep veneers you should consider the process irreversible, so there is little benefit to conserving tooth structure.  Like Dr. Wending, I rarely place no-prep veneers anymore for the above listed reasons.  However, I placed quite a few no-prep veneers as a new dentist, many of which still look great to this day (10+ years later).  So, I know that it can be done well and you should proceed with what you and your dentist feel comfortable with.

I have been placing veneers for more than 20 years and spent many of those years training other dentists in the technique. I NEVER recommend prepless veneers. With your spaces, only a minimal prep is required and it allows your lab the freedom to ensure that the veneers are perfectly proportioned. For more info on that, Google golden proportion.
