5 years ago had a crown put on over a tooth with out having a root canal. No issues until last week I was chewing gum and got a zinger. I went to the dentist and got tooth shaved down as it appeared my bite had changed. X-rays showed no damages under crown. That was 5 days ago, I’m still in pain all the time. Ibuprofen doesn’t touch the pain, I had some Vicodin from a surgery I had earlier in the year and have taken that which makes the pain a little more bearable, but still in tremendous amount of pain.

It is unlikely that decay under the crown of a root canaled tooth would cause the symptom you described. You should have the root canal result evaluated by an Endodontist to determine if all is well with the root canal procedure. Crack tooth syndrome is also a possibility.
The crown will feel big to your tongue and cheek because you haven't had a tooth there for a while. It takes about 2 weeks for your muscles to get adjusted to having a tooth there. If it still bothers you then the dentist can reshape the crown with a bur to make it more...
