I had an interesting ear piercing experience. Something the piercer had never done, three piercrings in the form of a triangle in my cartilage. It's been about 4 years now and it has not healed very well. My skin is growing over the piercings and constantly omitting puss and blood. From time to time it is hot to the touch. Overall, it is not a pretty thing to look at. The kicker is, it's impossible to take off! Someone suggested getting it surgically removed. Can this even be done?

Answer: Can my infected piercing of 4 years be removed surgically?
Although it sounds mild, what you have is technically called an "ear deformity." As my colleague already stated, it's unlikely that an ear deformity can be remediated without surgery, as the cartilage must be adjusted. While more flexible than bone, cartilage is still very resistant to remolding...
Best to follow up with your surgeon to evaluate your symptoms and see what can be done to help you. Depending on how many sutures were inserted and the degree of pre existing ear deformity will likely dictate your degree of recurrent protrusion of your ears.
Is the name of your condition, also a little chondrodermatitis nodularis might have increased such prominence. Can be fixed with very easy outpatient procedure.
