Why is it that PRP injections are not used for crows feet?

Hello, If PRP injections are so good to give a little of volume to an specific area of the face. Why is it that PRP injections are not used for Crow's feet, if is going to smooth those empty spaces? It has to be injections not microneedle which i dont believe it works besides the glow you get for the first weeks.

Hi, crow's feet lines are typically caused by the muscles around your eyes that scrunch the skin when you smile. The best way to stop these lines from appearing is by immobilizing the muscles that cause this to happen. PRP can help the skin become more flexible so that the lines do not etch in as much but using a botulinum toxin to immobile the muscles will do a better job. Having said that, we do often inject PRP, I prefer PRF, along with some fillers into the crow's feet area to soften the lines, especially in people who may be resistant to botulinum toxin.

Hi @Bright798221. Crow's feet are dynamic lines from facial expressions. To stop these lines from forming, we must weaken the muscles that cause the wrinkling with neuromodulators like Botox, Dysport, Xeomin. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!

A series of three micro needling treatments with PRP has been shown to increase collagen production and improve skin texture and quality. This can help soften crows feet as well as other areas on the face. However, crows feet are typically dynamic lines from facial expressions. Since this is contributed by the underlying muscle it will not fully get rid of the lines but help soften them over time. This can also be combined with botulin toxins to help with the underlying musculature and improve overall outcomes.
