I had a breast reduction a week ago. I have dark red blood coming from my incision. Is this normal?

I had a breast reduction a week ago. I didn't any any drains and now at the bottom of my breast I have dark red blood oozing from my incision. My doctor told me it was just old blood and for me not to worry. That if it proceeded to leak after Tuesday he would but a drain in it. Is this normal?
