A good candidate has enough fat available for transfer in the procedure. The amount of fat that can be transferred in a BBL depends on how much fat the patient has to harvest and the amount of space there is to move the fat into. It is recommended for the patient to have a BMI of 30 or less. If you are too thin, a Brazilian Butt Lift may not be possible.
Hello patricann81,I appreciate your questions! Plastic surgeons have different post-operative protocols, customized for every patient to achieve the best results. I typically recommend my patients to purchase overnight feminine pads (heavy flow) such as Poise, Always or Kotex to help absorb bloody drainage after surgery. I also suggest them buying some disposable towels to protect their bed sheets from bloody drainage. Since they will be draining lots of fluids, I recommend them buying waterproof covers to protect their bed sheets and car from bloody drainage as well. Since every case is different, it’s always best to consult with your plastic surgeon about your specific needs and concerns. Best regards! Dr. De La Cruz.
I suggest antibiotic ointment such as Bactrian and sterile glaze. The sterility is most important.
Hi thank you for your excellent question. You can use any kind of absorbent pad like poise to collect fluid, taking care to change them frequently to avoids infection. Poise pads are also popular to use for added compression in the lower abdomen. Good luck to you!
Absolutely, you may use Poise pads or any other absorbing type gauze or pad. The drainage shouldn’t last for more than several days. Best of luck!
Hello You can have the procedures you want at the same time, as long as your health condition allows it, but definitely you must be evaluated first to accomplish what you wished. Consult with a certified plastic surgeon. Regards Dr. Israel Mañon Certified Plastic Surgeon

Thank you for your question. Not every Surgeon uses drain for tipo and BBL, i'm one of them and normally my patients don't leak. In the case that it happens it wouldn't be more than the day after the surgery. Best wishes!
