I would be happy at 150lbs. I've been overweight my whole life, and it has progressively gotten worse. I try a diet lose 15 gain 20. I'm not living anymore because I'm so self conscious, but I've tried so many diets, (cutting carbs, high carbs, prepackaged food, etc.) and no success. I have a friend who was a bit heavier than i am like 230 and did orbera she is down 30lbs. and even at 170 i would be ecstatic. I just hate seeing a 2 in the scale. Should I do this?
Answer: Is Orbera right for me? Endoscopic weight loss procedures offer new opportunities for significant, and lasting weight loss. Numerous studies have shown that diet and exercise alone don't work very well. And bariatric surgery is drastic and has significant risks. Based on this, and the details you have provided, you would certainly be a good candidate for Orbera. Your BMI of 34 is exactly within the target range of 30-40 for this device. The amount of weight that you lose will depend on your motivation level, and how much you really put the balloon to work -- meaning you really maximize your exercise, perfect your diet, and allow the balloon to keep your appetite in check. Average weight loss is between 20 and 50 lbs. We provide a 12-month comprehensive program to ensure the best chance of long-term success, and studies tell us that most patients can keep the weight off. Of course, this is no guarantee, but our goal is to provide a platform for long-term change.

Answer: I am a candidate for Orbera Your calculated BMI (body mass index) is 34 which is in the recommended range (30-40 BMI). Results are variable with average weight loss close to 40 pounds in aggregated studies. Certainly there are patients that have had better and some with lesser results. In general the closer the patient follow diet recommendations and participates in an exercise program, the better the results. The balloon takes care of the cravings.

Answer: Orbera Balloon as a weight loss option Thank-you very much for the question. You have a BMI of approximately 34. The Orbera Balloon would definately be a non-surgical weight loss option for you. That being said, sustained weight loss does require behaviour and lifestyle change. The Orbera Balloon is a tool to help kick start your weight loss. The balloon does have to be removed after six months and careful follow-up with your weight loss clinic is needed to ensure you sustain the weight loss and make lifestyle changes. The advantage of the Gastric Balloon is that there are no surgical incisions and it is reversible. Best of luck on you weight loss journey.
