Invisalign not completely covering tooth (Photo)

Thank you for your question and submitting a photo of your concern. At first glance it looked as though you may need more time in allowing your tray to seat better (shifting to occur) but looking at adjacent teeth it looks as though you may need a new set of trays or what we call a midcourse correction. This happens when the teeth aren't tracking or moving according to plan. Make an appointment and speak to your treating Invisalign dentist about this sooner rather than later so you can both come up with a solution. Did you previous tray fit the same? If your previous tray fit well, you may just need to wear that one a bit longer. Good luck to you!

If you have any doubt about the fit of the aligner then you should see your orthodontist before you put in the next set.  It is best to be safe.  Let him be the one to decide after looking at it what he wants you to do.  Just state your concern so that you don't feel later on that you should have gone.  Good luck! 

Dear MicahEddie,Thank you for posting your question on Real Self.  I will do my best to answer your question with the information given.I recommend scheduling an earlier appointment with your orthodontist.  It appears that your tooth is not following the aligners properly, and you might need a mid-course correction.  In this case, your orthodontist will order some new aligners to adjust the treatment for that tooth.I hope that this helps and good luck!Best,Dr. Jenn
