Still black/Blue after filler almost a month ago! I'm worried this is permanent.

bluish discoloration after filler placement can be seen weeks after placement and can last for a while. sometimes it is due to the level of filler placement (Tyndall affect) or it could be due to bruising leading to hemosiderin that can permanently stain the skin. I have had success in masking some of this discoloration with fractional lasers. feel free to contact if youre interested

If it is still "bruised" ensure there is no hematoma or iron deposition after the trauma from the procedure.  This can be treated with pulsed dye, IPL, or Excel V laser.  If it is "bluish" then hyaluronidase should wash it away in a few hours.  You have nothing to lose with trying that.  Best, Dr. Emer.

When bruising is severe, hemosiderin can deposit in the skin, causing prolonged skin discoloration. The discoloration fades away slowly over many months. It can take a year to go away completely. My advice is to avoid additional procedures in the area and give your body time to heal. If the discoloration is not getting better in 3-4 months, see another doctor for a second opinion. Take photos so you can objectively gauge if the color is improving.
