Is there any real difference between the Prima and Perfecta lasers?

Both the Prima and Perfecta are pulse dye lasers purported to be very useful, among other things, for treating vascular problems, like the redness from rosacea and "broken" blood vessels (telangiectasias). For years already I have been cautioning my followers to be wary of claims for this or that supposedly "next big thing" laser (or radiofrequency and ultrasound devices, for that matter) as these to date are far more backed by device manufacturer supported marketing hype and little hard science (as you have already unfortunately found out by via wasting time and money on IPL treatments).  So, be cautious and do your due diligence on these other "bells and whistles" before investing any more time and money. If rosacea redness is your problem, the combination of home use topical prescription products and most recently the use of microbolus Botox has been found quite helpful. And if telangiectasias are the issue, light electrodessication has proven quite useful and stood the test of decades of time. Best of luck to you.  

I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. For rosacea, I like a combination approach, using lasers (ProYellow, Pulsed Dye/Vbeam, Excel V(, BBL)), peels and botox to the cheeks. This makes dramatic changes in color and symptoms. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
