Will frenectomy fix gummy smile? (Photo)

Many years ago I was told that I needed a frenectomy prior to braces. I went to a different othrodontist because I was scared of the procedure at 10 years old. Now I’m wondering if the reason my smile is so gummy is due to my frenum. I had Botox once and enjoyed the results, but would like a more permanent fix. Pictures attached.

It is difficult to determine the cause for sure without an examination. In certain people and attached frenulum which is tight can cause this. This would feel like a tight band running vertically in the midline of your upper lip. If this were present it is very simple to fix and perhaps to solve...
