Happy to help. Retinoids are known as one of the best anti-aging skin care treatments, but the adjustment period can cause redness, peeling, and flaky skin. In an effort to minimize the adverse effects related to retinol usage, it is generally recommended that a retinoid treatment regimen begin with application on alternate nights for the first 2 weeks of use, at minimum, or until tolerable. To complement your retinol application, we suggest looking into SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2. Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2 is the first anti-aging cream to directly address age-related lipid loss with a 2:4:2 cholesterol-dominant ratio. This formulation contains an ideal ratio of pure lipids easily utilized by skin and is clinically shown to shorten the adjustment period to retinoids up to 1 week while reducing dryness.Once you are comfortable, we would recommend the usage of vitamin C and hyaluronic acid to be applied in the morning. After cleansing, apply a few drops of the vitamin C serum onto skin. If you are looking for a product recommendation, SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic combines a synergistic combination of 15% pure vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid), 1% pure vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol), and 0.5% ferulic acid. Formulated to meet the Duke Parameters necessary for optimal vitamin C absorption and effectiveness, this synergistic formula neutralizes free radical damage caused by daily environmental aggressors. It also helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and improve the feel of skin firmness. SkinCeuticals H.A. Intensifier is a hyaluronic acid serum that helps improve the overall natural appearance of plumpness, smoothness, and firmness. This product consists of 10% proxylane and 2.2% purple rice extract that will help to deliver long-lasting hydration and visibly smooth skin texture.Complete your skincare regimen with a sunscreen like SkinCeuticals Physical Fusion UV Defense SPF 50 to protect your skin.
Hello, and thank you for your question.Using both products depends on your skin type, how sensitive you are to products, and whether you live in a humid climate or not.If you can tolerate both retin-a at night and Vitamin C during the day, they probably are beneficial. Just make sure you are washing with a very gentle cleanser and not overdrying your skin. The hyaluronic acid is probably also helpful in keeping the skin hydrated.Be sure to wear a zinc-containing sunscreen every day with an SPF of 30-50 on top of your serum.Best of luck!
I probably use Hydroquinone more than most skin care physicians, but I would not use it for your problem. Instead, I would use an IPL. It is specific for the discoloration and can target just the scars. I have used it for this purpose and find it an excellent solution.
I have been prescribing tretinoin in varying concentrations and formulations for treating very fine lines and crinkles, as well as for tone and texture problems for well over three decades. It remains the most tested of all topical agents for these problems and has a lot of good science behind...
In Florida (or Hawaii) you do have some increased UVB exposure. However, your UVA exposure is very little different from anyone else anywhere else that is outside as much. Since you and everyone else cannot get "out of the sun," you just have to wear the right sunblock. Forget the SPF. All it...
