Uneven crown surface, should dentist replace free including his time? Can I expect to get what I paid for without paying again?

6 months ago a private dentist replaced my two top front crowns, they were over 10 years old and had some metal showing near gum line. A few months later I initially felt and then noticed an uneven surface on both crowns, more on right. I have a small overbite, dark posts were fitted 30 years ago. I imagine the error occurred when they tried reducing the bulk without the dark posts showing through &nicked the surface. NHS dentist also noticed poor gum line, he though they were several years old

We would need a photo and a copy of the doctor's notes.  If he/she reshaped the bulk after the fact and created the problem you may expect a remake at no charge.  If you viewed the result and accepted it prior to cementation it may be on you to now ask for a r-make.  Discuss this with the dentist who did this in a pleasant concerned manner and hopefully it can be resolved.

It may be that a portion of the porcelain broke out on the inside. This should not happen so soon after putting them on. It could be a internal defect in the porcelain or the dentist may not have reduced the tooth enough ,leaving that too thin. I would have the dentist take a look and see what happened. more than likely, it will need to be redone and it should be done a t no fee
