Why is the entire back of my crowned tooth gone black? (photos)

I originally chipped my tooth from a coin being thrown at me. I had a root canal and then I received a crown. It has only just been put in last year so it is fairly new. And now its entirely black at the back. Is this normal and should I be worried? What should I do?

You should not have anything to worry about.  Once your surgeon gives you a full release after surgery you should be able to have dental procedures performed.

I would call your dentist's office and explain your concerns.  I feel certain that they will want to get you into the office and evaluate the crowns.  If they are leaking,  they will likely replace them with new ones.  Good luck.
