In most cases if your only medical issue is diabetes ,  as long as you are well controlled and your hgA1C is below 7 , you should be cleared for the treatment. If you have any other comorbidities they will have to be addressed by your surgeon prior to treatment

Excess, lumpy fat can be excised.Area is too small for laser lipo or micro lipo.Injections of kenalog/5FU may help.Kybella if you are using it for the double chin, possibly may play a role administered in small doses and it would help the fat, but not fibrosis.

I would avoid all the gimmicky hypes about laser lipos etc.....They are the cheapest and most dissatisfying of all the liposuctions. To be fair , there probably is someone out there that had a decent result but I have yet to find him/her.

This is unfortunately permanent and due to blood vessels in the skin that are damaged.  Venus legacy can help and hyperbaric oxygen but typically this is a long term issue.  Best, Dr. Emer.
