We had the first CO2 laser in Stuart Florida when it first became available. We perfected a technique for full face laser with 3 to 6 passes depending on the different skin thickness on different parts of the face under IV sedation for full control and comfort. We performed 351 cases. In the end, we found laser did not effectively remove deep etched wrinkles, nor last as long as the traditional Baker Gordon Phenol peel mixture. The laser was effective in 40 year olds with fine wrinkles but only lasted 2 to 3 years, while phenol lasted about 5 to 10 years.
Fractional CO2 laser is an excellent tool for skin rejuvenation in our center in Santa Monica. We use the fractional multi-depth ablative approach to help resurface the skin, recontour acne scars, improve incisional plastic surgery scars, and reduce surface irregularities from skin tone to dark pigmentation. Our approach utilizes a multi-depth approach that targets melanocytes in the epidermis and collagen fibroblasts in the dermis. This approach can be combined with a TCA Peel in a process known as a sapphire peel. Fractional laser is excellent for acne scars and contour scars in the skin. Patients are advised to undergo skin protocols with Melarase creams before and after treatment to help reduce pigmentation. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. After the laser, we expect redness for a few weeks as the skin improves. PRP and Hydrafacial enzyme facials can further improve skin quality after fractional co2. Best,Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

A Phenol peel is usually the strongest type of peel offered. It is generally used on very deep wrinkles and severely aged skin. There is also a risk of hyperpigmentation with phenol peels. Recovery times with a phenol peel are usually the longest of any peel, sometimes a week or longer. It is...
Thank you for your question. Some peels are very harsh, and increase your risk of pigment irregularities. I hope this helps!
Lieber Crowly;Picking on loose skin is not wise, because it often incites bleeding. When the dead skin is ready to come off, it will. Here in the United States, patients are commonly treated with antibiotic ointment over the entire peeled surface until the new skin has presented itself. That's...
