Great question. Basically the tooth is permanently bruised. Your options are to have a root canal completed and then to internally bleach the tooth. This is a good option but often is not predictable in a final even color change or that the dark stain can sometime return. Your other option is to cover the dark area with composite or porcelain and try to match your other tooth colors.Either avenue is an option for you--I will say that most people choose to cover the discoloration. the best way to go, is root canal, post and crown, there are many materials now that will get you great results. zirconium crowns are metal free and you will have a long term solution. aesthetically you will be able to match the other tooth with a good material.
Sensodyne is great. You can use it in combination with parodontax. I actually recommend that you use sensodyne in 2 week intervals. If you use it too much, it can become an irritant in itself.
