Zygomaticus minor damage. My smile has turned totally crooked. Can surgery help me? (Photo)

Question

I was in an accident a year ago and had trauma to my face. A scar close to the eye. Now my smile is completely skewed! As you can see, the right side(your left) is much lower. The cheek is depressed and it is "heavier" to move it the area. I'm think it's the Orbicularis Oculi or the Zygomaticus Minor that is damaged. Can the nerve be repaired/reattached somehow? It's not a wide area of trauma. (Please note that the redness on the front-pics are unrelated, it is the scar of last picture.)

Your best bet is to see a oral surgeon to assess the nerve damage due to the trauma, and see a neurologist that works with the oral surgeon, for particular facial exercises. I do suggest the more conservative you are the better off you will be, for the nerves to regenerate and repair itself.

I don't know if a surgeon can repair this issue or not. Something less invasive would be to see someone who specializes in facial fillers and botox. You may be able to solve the problem that way for a lot less money and down time. Try Beverly Hills Facial Aesthetics, and ask for Beth.
