You could look into botox to keep the lip from elevating as high. This will show less gums and since you have good size teeth, your smile will show well. Be aware that you need to see someone that really knows what they are doing, because this is very technique sensitive. Also, Botox will only last 3-4 months. The other option is to have some gum surgery, but you mentioned you didn't want surgery.
