So I've already had two breast augmentations. First one my areolas stretched out so I ended up getting a revision for them. Now my areolas are healing but the skin around my areolas is very dark and uneven. I'm 6 months post op. What do you recommend? I don't wanna do another surgery because I don't want more scar tissue.
Answer: Non-Surgical Options for Lightening and Reducing Scar Appearance After a Donut Lift Thank you for reaching out with your concerns. It's understandable that you want to improve the appearance of your scars without undergoing additional surgery. Here are some non-surgical options that you might consider to help lighten and reduce the appearance of scars from a donut lift: Topical Treatments: Silicone gel or silicone sheets can be effective in reducing scar visibility and improving texture. Additionally, topical treatments containing ingredients like vitamin C, kojic acid, or niacinamide may help lighten hyperpigmentation around the areolas. Laser Therapy: Lasers, such as fractional laser or pulsed dye laser, can help improve scar texture and pigmentation. These treatments work by stimulating collagen production and breaking down excess pigmentation. Microneedling: This procedure involves using fine needles to create micro-injuries in the skin, which can promote collagen production and improve the appearance of scars. Chemical Peels: Light chemical peels can help exfoliate the top layers of the skin, which may reduce pigmentation and improve skin texture. Hydroquinone Creams: This prescription cream can lighten darkened areas of skin, but it should be used under the guidance of a dermatologist to avoid potential side effects. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Therapy: IPL can target pigmentation and improve overall skin tone and texture. It's important to consult with a board-certified dermatologist or a plastic surgeon who can evaluate your specific situation and recommend the most suitable treatment plan. They can also ensure that any treatment chosen is safe and effective for your skin type and condition. Best wishes for your recovery and achieving the results you desire. Sincerely,

Answer: Multiple treatments scubas Vbeam and Resurfx can help improve appearance of scars. Apply Plato's Scar Serum twice daily Our office has many different treatments for scars depending on the depth of atrophy or hypertrophy. Scars require a combination approach using our HI DEF protocol which uses a combination of lasers, topical scar modulation, and RF treatments to pixelate scars, improve contour, reduce hyperpigmentation, and improve the visibility of the scars so that they are no longer visible in ambient light. Everyone has a unique pattern of scarring and we employ our HIDEF technique to improve texture, color, contour, and topography. We often use a combination of treatments that begin with a careful examination to examine the micro texturing of the acne scars. Atrophic scars and indented scars can benefit from injectable fillers such as Radiesse, Sculptra, and Restylane with or without subcision to remove tethered scars and atrophic depression. Hyper-redness in scars can be improved with V beam laser, Excel V, BBL, IPL, and Venus RF to improve the redness and reduce the visibility of deep scars. Fractional Thulium laser and clear & brilliant can also reduce the inflammation and redness of the scar when combined with topical therapy. Fractional lasers such as Fraxel, erbium, and CO2 laser can be combined with radio frequency and also fractional RF to improve textual issues and microtopography. Subcision and TCA cross are also used for deep ice pick scars and narrow valley scars in order to improve the micro texture. Above all, our combination approach with our clinical nurses and board-certified plastic surgeons can improve the quality of your skin by using at home Melarase creams combined with PRP treatments in our office to improve your skin quality and tone. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an experienced team of experts in order to reduce your scarring. Finally, hyperpigmentation of scars can be improved with at-home Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads to help reduce active PIH and melanin deposition. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon
