Is the swelling/tiny lumps at the corner of my eyes normal for 2 wk po from a double eyelid surgery and epicanthoplasty? (photo)

Question

I got double eyelid surgery and epicanthoplasty (which I think is the term for an incision into the inner corners of your eyes) 2 weeks ago, and I got my stitches taken out a week ago. I'm wearing contacts, and it doesn't hurt anymore. I started washing my face a day after my stitches got taken out. I'm concerned about the scarring at the corner of my eyes, esp how my right eye has a lump of skin.

It is normal to have swelling this long after surgery for eyelids, and should gradually subside over the next several weeks. The scar should also improve as you continue to heal. Be sure to discuss your concerns with your surgeon at your next visit.

The scars look the worst the first four weeks after surgery. They will flatten out over a few weeks ot months. You can speed the process by pressing on them periodically throughout  the day.

At two weeks postop, your incisions are healing still. This is the point of maximal "lumpibumpiness." Give yourself a chance to heal. If these issues persist, discuss with your surgeon.

I did say for 2 weeks you're probably doing just fine.It would appear you went for a fairly dramatic look with a parallel crease which adds a little bit to the healing time versus lower more natural tapered crease creation.  The epicanthal fold will be one of the last places to finish healing completely.  It is normal for to be bumpy and visible at this time.
