Skin tanned after Cosmelan and left upper lip very dark (Photo)

Question

I did the Cosmelan Peel last month & 2nd peel. After 2nd peel, my upper lip was more had more scaling and was over exfoliated. 2 weeks after the second peel, I went for a 20min walk w/out thinking. My HIP came back (not as severe & skin tanned) -upper lip is my biggest concern. It looks grey.This was 2 wks ago,has since gotten lighter, but it was a problem b4 with my upper lip looking dark like you can see the root of the hair & darkness,I tweezed or threaded.

I suggest seeing an expert in post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.  This needs a combination of lightening creams and sun protection.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Hi DB.  If you are concerned about the darkening, we would suggest an at home medication rather than a one time peel, especially if you will be out in the sun for any time.We use 6% - 8% hydroquinone and the results for this program can be seen at the link below for our Los Angeles patients.
