Can I request to have crooked tooth "straightened" when built back up, after a root canal?

The tooth that needs work is very rotated. Since it will likely be filed way down, and then built back up to place a crown, could the dentist shape it to be more straight?

Hello and thank you for your question. It should be no problem for your doctor to "straighten" your tooth with a crown assuming there is a sufficient space for it. Often enough, the reason a tooth is crooked is there was not enough space for it to erupt properly in a first place.All the best to you.

Yes,  you certainly may request this. This is the goal of any cosmetic dentist while restoring teeth. In your situation, it should be very easy to write a prescription to a laboratory technician to create a new crown that looks like it is aligned properly with the rest of the teeth in your arch. Your dentist should know how to accomplish this with ease.

The answer is that if you have had root canal, and are getting a crown- you should easily be able to make the new tooth look straight.
