I have an upper lip Permalip implant that needs to come out. It was badly placed to start with, looks like I have a mustache. Recently, I have developed wrinkles on top of my upper lip. I am wondering, if once removed, a lip lift will give the illusion of volume, or if I would also need a dermal graft. Doctors, please let me have your thoughts.

I know what you've had and remove these regularly. It may be a goretex tube (softform) or advant, or goretex strips. In any case, I've successfully taken them out many times, right in the office.
Lip implants do very well for most patients and are a permanent way to fix thin lips. They are easy to put in and easy to remove but very few docs know about them or even have them. Of the 3 major types, really only 1 type is readily available now. They run about $3500 per implant.
Everyone has a bit of facial asymmetry, and this is also common in somebody's lips. Based on your singular photo, I would suggest no intervention. I suggest this since I do not see any significant asymmetry between the right and the left. Thank you for your question. Sincerely, Dr Joseph
