I saw a double board certified surgeon 2 months ago to remove fillers. He's used hyaluronidase 3 times to no avail. Says he's never seen a filler so thick. Original injections (different person) 1 year ago. 9 months ago for the 2nd time to "fix" them. Dec. 2nd, back to reduce them. Told me it'll last 2-3 yrs. Products Not FDA approved. Lumpy areas inside. Was told ice right after the filler would harden them!? Said it was collagen then it was hyaluronic acid. Please help! Smile is now so ugly.
Answer: Removal of unwanted fillers on the face Facial fillers using Hyaluronic acid can cause immediate swelling and uneven contour. The swelling usually subsides with time. I recommend applying Plato's Bruise Balm twice daily for a few days after injecting my patients. If the filler lumps do not resolve, then a small injection of Hylenex usually can correct an HA filler that is overdone. If Hylenex does not work, combination injections with verapamil or corticosteroid IIT may help. In some cases, Venus Viva RF can help tighten skin thereafter. Answer: Reversing lip fillers By your description, it may not have been a hyaluronic acid filler that was used for your lips. Most HA fillers used in the lips will resorb without hyaluronidase in one year. The amount of time that has passed and the fact that hyaluronidase has not helped suggest a different type of filler material was used. Most doctors place a "sticker" in each patient's chart (or electronic medical record) of the lot # of the filler that was used. Since you are entitled to a copy of your medical record, I would get a copy of the filler that was used for your lips. That information would be most helpful. Good luck

Answer: Lip Fillers -- Juvederm Ultra/Ultra Plus/Volbella/Voluma, Restylane Silk/Lyft, Belotero, Fat Injections you will need them surgically removed if they are not removeable with hyaluronidase. You can try steroid/5FU injections and exilis treatments, we have had success with that in some patients. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Lip fillers I am sorry to hear about your issue. Based on what you have described it does not sound like the filler used was a hyaluronic acid based filler, hyaluronidase will only dissolve fillers that are hyaluronic acid based. Most Hyaluronic acid based fillers will last up to a year in lips. The doctor has told you it will last 2-3 years, they have most likely used a different variety. You will need to go back and find out if it in deed it was hyaluronic acid based or the actual name of the filler used.

Answer: Reversing lip filler with hyaluronidase Sorry to hear about your experience. The question here is whether a hyaluronic acid based filler was used. Hyaluronic acid based fillers like Juvederm and Restylane are reversible using hyaluronidase. Sometimes, multiple treatment sessions and large amounts of hyaluronidase maybe required to completely breakdown the filler. If an HA filler was not used, then hyaluronidase will not help. In that case surgical resection would probably be the only option. I cannot stress to others who may read this how important it is to only use FDA approved dermal fillers my experienced injectors.
