Can you get laser hair removal while taking Dexamethasone (Decadron) and Pomalyst?

Is it safe to get laser hair removal and IPL while on Dexamethasone and Pomalyst? If so, will the steroids cause the hair to grow back and not be properly removed?

Hello MW.  Although most medications are not contraindicated with lasers because of photosensitivity, we do usually take precautions with cancer drugs and chemotherapy.  We usually refer back to the oncologist for their experience and wait for approval.  In our 15 year experience with laser hair removal, the only true contraindicated drug we have found with lasers is Accutane and we have a 6 month "wash out" period after Accutane to start laser treatments.  Steroids will not cause hair to grow back.
