Would you please tell me how to treat blackhead acne after hair removal laser treatment?

I hope the laser hair treatments are helping with your hair growth, unfortunately I have not run into this problem with blackhead acne after laser treatments where I treat my patients.  I recommend following up with our laser providers or a dermatologist to make sure your skin in clean.  Do you treat your skin for acne normally or does this only occur after laser treatments? I wish I could be more help but this is a problem I have not run into in my laser practice.

Hello Adventurous4253.  Sorry you are having trouble with acne after hair removal.  At Monroe Comprehensive Laser Center, we have not had issues with this problem.  There are several important principles to laser hair removal.  The first is to make sure that the patient has clear skin before treatment.  At our office, if any patient has skin issues or acne, we make sure to do a detailed skin consult and get their skin completely clear before any treatments.  The second is to make sure that you have not done any hair removal with wax, pluck or electrolysis for at least two weeks before your treamtent.  Third, the appropriate laser has to be used.  It is our opinion that the Candela Gentlemax Pro is the gold standard for laser hair removal.  It effective for all skin types from the lightest to the darkest.  Having said this, the first thing for you to do is to get your skin completely cleared up before any further treatments.  Second, we would recommend that you switch to the gentlemax if that is available to you and get a test spot first 24 hours before your treatment to be sure that you are not going to get a skin reaction.  Hope this helps!
