SculpSure gives the best results for patients who live a healthy lifestyle, but are struggling with localized problem areas, despite their diet and exercise efforts. Some of our patients have described that they've hit a plateau in the results they're seeing with diet and exercise, and they feel frustrated. Often, there are hormonal, genetic, or aging changes at play, which are causing them to store fat in unflattering locations. For these patients, who live a healthy, active lifestyle, SculpSure is a wonderful solution, because we know once we eliminate these fat cells, they're going to experience a lasting result. Some doctors have mentioned that ideal patients should have good skin quality. Of course, if you have tight, thick, youthful skin, it is likely your skin will contract nicely in conjunction with the fat loss provided by SculpSure. What if you don't have good skin quality, though? What if child birth, weight loss, or aging has caused some skin laxity? SculpSure would actually be your best choice for non-invasive fat loss in this case. Other non-invasive options, like Zerona, LipoSonix, and CoolSculpt are not good choices for those with loose skin. However, SculpSure is a laser, and we know with warming lasers, there will be some contraction and tightening of the skin.
In my experience the best candidate for SculpSure is someone who takes pretty good care of themselves. The person exercises (at least sometimes) and has a fairly healthy diet. The person may even be quite in good shape and have a problem area where the fat just doesn't seem to come off no matter what he/she does. The person can be overweight, but not too overweight. Cynosure, the manufacturer of SculpSure, states that people should have a BMI less than 30 and that treatment is most effective for people no more than 30 lbs over their ideal body weight (IBW). Here is a good BMI calculator you can use from the NIH. Here is an IBW calculator. Keep in mind you need to adjust it if you are under 5 feet tall. Yes, it is sometimes hard to believe what your IBW comes out to be or that you could ever reach it. This doesn't mean that doing SculpSure if you are more than 30 lbs overweight wouldn't do anything for you, but you might be better off getting your weight down first before spending the money on it. Keep in mind the treatment is destroying 1/4 of the fat cells located 1.5 to 3 centimeters under your skin. So if you have a subcutaneous fat layer that is much thicker than that, the results may not be very noticeable. This is also why it takes 2 (or even more) treatments for an area to reduce the fat cells enough to be able to notice it in photographs. In my experience there will still be a reduction in fat enough to see that your clothes are fitting better even before you see the results you want in photographs. If you really want results quickly, you can certainly look into surgery (liposuction or even bariatric surgery). But before you do that (surgery), please do yourself a favor and consult with a physician who is certified in Functional Medicine. Often there are factors involved with difficulty losing weight having to do with hormones, toxins, nutrition, activity level, sleep, and digestive health, among others which can be addressed to help weight loss. In order to make sure you are happy with your results from SculpSure (or any treatment for that matter), you should consult with a physician who is honest and will tell you that you are not a good candidate yet. The physician should be able to you to become a good candidate by helping you to lose weight in a safe and effective way. Or the physician should be able to recommend a different treatment or even a different physician to help you get the results you are looking for.
Sculpsure is a very versatile noninvasive fat reduction technology that can be applied to many types of people. The important things to know is that it can achieve modest to significant fat reduction when done properly over a course of a few treatments. A major benefit is that there is absolutely no downtime, and virtually no complication rate. It is best suited to people who are not significantly overweight or have very large areas of fat excess. Also, ideally, there should be no scars or hernias in the area that is to be treated. People with certain medical conditions such as autoimmune disorders should not have the procedure done. That said, with the appropriate dedication to the treatment, great results can be obtained. I wish you the best, Dr. Gabbay.
Sculpsure is not weight loss. Like liposuction, its ideal for problem areas which require fat reduction. It is non surgical as opposed to liposuction, which is surgical.
The ideal patient is someone who is fit and in shape, but has some stubborn areas they want to get rid of. The advantage of SculpSure is that it is non-invasive with no downtime, allowing you to continuing your day-to-day workout routine, all while losing fat without surgery. SculpSure is a simple in office treatment that takes 25 minutes per area with minimal discomfort.
SculpSure is ideal for those who have stubborn areas or pockets of fat that don't respond with traditional dieting or exercise. *Best* candidates are those who have about an inch of fat to pinch, but anyone with unwanted fat who is wanting to forgo surgery can receive a treatment or even a treatment series to improve the look of the area. Make sure your areas are evaluated and that your provider can educate you with realistic expectations.
Great and very important question. ScupSure is a revolutionary, non invasive fat destruction system that delivers results in as little as a 25 minute treatment session. This however, does not mean that you can eat all you want and expect to get treatment and be skinny again. The "ideal" candidate for Sculpsure is a person that is committed to a healthier and active lifestyle, attends gym a few times a week and east a healthy and well balanced diet, and after doing all of this, still has an area of persistent and stubborn fat "bulges" that just won't go away. The ideal weight for SculpSure candidate is someone in BMI area between 20-30. People with BMI ( body mass index) of over 30 need to be evaluated carefully and should have their expectations addressed at the time of consultation. It can definitely be used in different types of people as long as expectations have been addressed before the start of the treatment. I have treated many patients with BMI over 30, up to BMI of 33, for great improvement in hard to treat area like Inner thighs, bra rolls and love handles and it made my patients happy and eased their daily life struggles. Hope this helps and good luck. Best. Dr.Avaliani
SculpSure is ideal for patients who are generally fit and whose weight has been stable for at least 12 months, but have an area of stubborn fat that they want treated. SculpSure works best for the love handles and/or abdomen.
The indications are any person with diet and exercise-resistant fat who wants fat reduction. This is not a treatment for obesity or weight loss in general. It has the same indications as liposuction, but it will appeal to those patients who do not want any surgery and are patient enough to wait for the fat to melt away.Years ago the first Smartlipo machines were very low powered lasers and the treatment consisted of lasering an anesthetized area and letting the fat slowly dissolve without liposuction.Cynosure has discovered with SculpSure a way to have the fat melt away without doing anything more than applying the laser applicators to the skin, no surgery.
Sculpsure works for everyone but works best for someone who wants to see some significant changes in their body contours without any recovery time. Because there is no recovery, anyone who has a busy schedule and can not take the time to have a surgical procedure done will see Sculpsure as a great and easy option.Having performed the procedure for many months and being one of the first to have the machine in our office, I've found that the best candidates are ones that have 3cm of fat or less on the areas they are concerned with seem to do best and see the most dramatic results. At this point, liposuction will be almost equivalent to this non-invasive procedure and has the added benefit of no recovery process.
SculpSure has been available for 1.5 years now and most likely was first available in New York as many New York physicians are true pioneers of advanced technology. It has been approved for treatment of fat in the stomach and love handles region, but it can definitely be used in many...
The depth of laser penetration for Sculpsure is consistent and safe even for thin patients. Your treatment provider can change the amount of energy delivered during treatment but not the depth of penetration. Your muscle and organs will be safe.
Surgical removal is your best option to correct this problem. There are other things that can be tried... Injection of Saline has helped sometimes, or although less likely to be of benefit, I would try Steroid shots
