Has anyone heard of sculpsure or sculpture? A friend of a friend did it and looks freaking sexy.

There are physicians in the US who are doing clinical trials, such as my friend in NY who you are likely referring to.  However, the long term data is not out yet and nobody knows the costs and number of treatments involved for improvement on the body.  This is a noninvasive diode laser for improvement in body shape.  We will see what comes of this and how it compares to ultrashape, coolsculpting, liposonix etc.  Best, Dr. Emer.

SculpSure is a special laser which works by heating the fat cells, causing them to die. It has been shown to reduce 25% of fat cells. Overtime the body is able to eliminate these dead fat cells through your lymphatics. The laser penetrates deep enough to reach the fat while not harming the skin. The treatment time per area is typically about 25 minutes. Results take about 6 weeks, as the body is slowly eliminating fat cells in the treatment area. We typically recommend patients receive 2 treatments 6 weeks apart for optimum results, but each patient is different. Another great perk about SculpSure is that there is absolutely no downtime after treatment. Most patients are extremely happy with their results because they get to avoid the down time associated with traditional liposuction.

SculpSure Is a noninvasive fat reduction technology that has absolutely no downtime and a nearly perfect safety profile. It is an alternative to liposculpture and can be used to slim your profile and improve your contours.  The treatment involves placing an applicator on top of your skin which will pass the laser into the fat just about 1 inch under the skin. Each treatment destroys approximately 23% of the fat underneath the skin and can gradually reduce the area of concern. In general, patients need a few treatments and can see a nice benefit. I believe in offering this as  an option for fat reduction. It is not as immediate or definitive as liposculpture, but is a great alternative for someone who wants no downtime and 10 except a longer treatment course. I have seen results in as early as a couple of weeks, but in general we wait a full 12 weeks for the full/final result. SculpSure has been available for 1.5 years now and most likely was first available in New York as many New York physicians are true pioneers of advanced technology.   It has been approved for treatment of fat in the stomach and love handles region, but it can definitely be used in many other body areas as long as you are a candidate, have soft pinchable fat and have realistic expectations. Hello and thank you for your question.  Sculpsure is available throughout the country and most cities.  I have it at my office located in Winter Park, Florida.  It is extremely effective, and painless procedure with treatment times that are much shorter the other devices.  Further, there are none of the side effects from other devices like coolsculpting which can leave areas of deformity, numbness and pain. It is a 1060nm laser and penetrates the skin to disrupts fat cells more specifically, rather than freezing a whole area.  I have seen excellent results so far with this laser.

Sculpsure has been out for a few months now and our practice was one of the first to get the machine so we have a lot of experience with it. SculpSure is a non-invasive laser fat loss device. The manufacturer has been very selective in which doctors are receiving the device. Our office was among the very first in the world to receive SculpSure. However, it may be some time before doctors in Tampa receive this technology.Flying is not a contraindication to this treatment, so it would be feasible for you to fly up to have the procedure done, if you were looking for treatment in the next few months.

SculpSure will be available in my practice in December, 2015. SculpSure allows a larger surface area to be treated than CoolSculpting for equivalent applicators, in 25 minutes instead of one hour, feathers the treatment instead of having demarcation.  There is no suction, no treatment pain, no painful post-treatment massage, no post op risk of numbness and nerve discomfort. The lower abdomen and flanks can be treated in an hour. Costs are about the same, about 1500 for the lower abdomen or flanks, depending on the number of applicators needed.
