How does someone find a skilled doctor for Kybella injections?

If Kybella is so new and just recently FDA approved how can someone find a doctor that can be trusted and  has the appropriate skill level to inject chin fat? Is there a specific credential that consumers should be looking for?

How does someone find a skilled doctor for Kybella injections?

Excellent question. Anyone who is injecting Kybella has to have gone through their training, so they will know their way around the product, but at first people will not have much experience. The best way to ensure you have a qualified trainer is to choose a surgeon who operates on faces and is therefore intimately familiar with the anatomy as well as someone who has good experience with other injectables. Ultimately, Kybella is much easier to administer than Botox or any filler, so if you would trust your injector to do either of these, you should trust them with Kybella.

Finding a Skilled Injector

The Kybella treatments are straight forward in terms of the placement of the grid which is the recommendation of Allergan. The injections are meant to be in the subcutaneous tissue and not below the superficial (Plastyma) muscle of the neck. The grid guides the correct sites to be injected. Bruising is a risk so avoiding aspirin products and NSAIDs pre-treatment are important. There is an important nerve(marginal mandibular) which provides motor innervation to the corner of the mouth

and this should be avoided during the injection. Keeping the injections above the muscle and staying on the grid pattern should avoid this problem. My suggestion regarding the skilled person for injection is to find a board certified physician who has the experience with Kybella. Remember this requires 3-5 treatments several months apart so you have to be patient for the results.
