I currently have braces to try and fix my class II malocclusion. My orthodontist reccomended to have upper premolar extracted to reduce protrusion of my upper front teeth though he said I did not have bimaxilslry protrusion, but to me it looks like I do. So I wanted to get more opinions. Also, I decided not to extract upper premolars but I’ll be 6 months into my treatment soon and I’m having second thoughts on my decision.

You well might have greater health issues by not having the tooth removed. It will decay and create a conduit through which all those nasty germs in the mouth will get into your blood stream and be carried throughout your body. Scary concept to me. I'd get that tooth out of there to be safe....
Retainers do NOT move teeth. However, there is an Inman Aligner that resembles a Hawley, but it is designed to move teeth. There are springs, etc. A retainer, no matter what kind is used, is only supposed to keep teeth in the current position.
