my old veneer is falling bit by bit...and im on holiday overseas for a short period...i want to do veneering while im holidaying with kids
Answer: Generally, you should be able to have it completed within 2 weeks It depends on what type of veneer you want to have completed. In most cases, a new veneer can be completed within 2 weeks. However, if you’re using a dentist that has access to an on-site dental laboratory or in-office lab machine, you may be able to even have your veneer completed in a single day.

Answer: How long does it take to do a veneer replacement?? Is this a plastic composite veneer, or porcelain veneer?A composite veneer can be replaced in one appointment.A porcelain veneer would take two appointments, but the time you would be in a temporary veneer would depend on the type of porcelain used, the lab and any lost time during the holiday rush.Feldspathic porcelain, which is the standard type of material most dentists use and has been used for veneers since they were first introduced to dentistry in 1985, can sometimes be done in a few days to a week. Pressed ceramic, like Empress porcelain or Emax porcelain, is a stronger, and most probably longer lasting material. They can usually be done in one to two weeks. If you are matching old porcelain veneers, then best to use the same material to get the best color match. If you have the option, I strongly favor Emax porcelain. In my opinion, it is one of the best porcelains available for porcelain veneers.

Answer: Treatment time required for placement of veneers The largest factor in determining start to final result treatment time is the time needed in the lab to fabricate the veneers. As a guideline, my ideal timeline for a veneer patient is as follows:1) Visit 1: Intial consult in which we discuss and determine the goals of the treatment. Depending on how significant a change the patient needs to make, I'll often have a replica model of possible result made and I'll have the patient back for a second consult a week later to discuss further. This additional step may or may not be required depending on circumstances. 2) Visit 2: Prep visit when I'll prepare the teeth and place the patient in temporaries which are very close in shape to their expected permanents. I'll give them a day or two to try them out. If they have no issues, I'll send for the permanents to be fabricated which takes about 10 days to be received from the lab.3) Visit 3: Cementation visit when the permanents are bonded to the teeth.Additional visits for complex cases:4) Visit 4: One week follow up to do any minor adjustments, take photos, and take impressions for a protective night guard.5) Visit 5: Delivery of protective night guard about 1 week after impressions The timeline I outlined is the ideal path and gets the best results. Most patients can be done with their treatment about a month after their initial consult. In special circumstances and simple cases, this may be condensed to as little as two weeks and still achieve ideal results. Some dentists may have a cad/cam machine to make veneers in their office which can reduce the amount of time needed, but this may result in a compromise of the veneer aesthetics.
