How long is the numbing cream supposed to be left on before ematrix treatment?

Topical anesthetic for eMatrix procedures

The timing of the anesthetic cream depends on the particular type of cream that is used. Typical is approximately 20 minutes or longer.

40-60 minutes

Yes, it really depends on the numbing cream and the vehicle. We use 23/7 lidocaine and tetracaine in a gel. This give great numbing, especially after 40 minutes. This is our default Fraxel laser and fractional laser gel as well eMatrix. Great gel- made by pharmacist Andy Tran from

Numbing for Ematrix

Depending on the type of numbing cream and patient sensitive’s time can vary. In my office numbing time is a minimum of 30 minutes, but patients have requested to numb longer and some have even requested to not numb at all. Consult with your Board Certified Dermatologist to see what the office protocol for numbing for Ematrix is.
